Linear Viscoelasticity and Time–Alcohol Superposition of Chitosan/Hyaluronic Acid Complex Coacervates

چکیده
Complex coacervation is an associative liquid–liquid phase separation phenomenon resulting from the complexation of oppositely charged macroions. While it well-known that behavior and rheological character coacervates can vary as a function identity various species present (i.e., macroions, salt, solution conditions), effect solvent quality has been rarely studied. Here, adding small amounts either methanol or ethanol to complex natural polymers chitosan hyaluronic acid described. The cosolvent addition on linear viscoelasticity characterized. Lastly, we explore potential for using not only time–salt superposition but also time–alcohol time–salt–alcohol provide insight into coacervate rheology.
